Our Lady of the Holy Rosary

On the feast of our Lady of the Holy Rosary I had invited few of my friends and their children to pray the rosary together and for some fun afterwards.  Some of them could not come but we still had two moms with their children show up and we celebrated the feast day.  I plucked most of the flowers that were still blooming in the fall season so that the boys when they say Hail Mary could fill the vase with each flower.   I was not sure whether it would work but they loved it.  Each one of them said the whole decade of the rosary by adding a flower for each Hail Mary.

Beautiful flowers ready for our mother

I felt like those flowers were just waiting with so much freshness for this purpose alone

Decorations ready for the activities

There were some small activities arranged for the kids as well as snacks.  They decorated the cup cakes with icing and got to decorate a picture of Mary and take home.  I was so unsure whether the boys would be interested in these kind of activities.  To my surprise they were after me asking for more activities.  I am so happy I actually made those available.  Today I went over to one of their homes and saw the Mary picture they decorated hanging on their door.  It made me so happy.   I still have to hang the one George made.

My friend with the guitar is having twins next March..what an excitement.

So much interest and curiosity in finding out what it is on the plate.   Twas a good guessing game for the boys and they guessed it right!

The blue frosting represented the color of Mary

She got a cake of her own to decorate

As the month of October is dedicated to our Lady of Rosary it was just very special to come together and start of the month by reciting the rosary together.  It was a long lost desire of my heart to come together with moms to pray the rosary and finally our dear mother Mary fulfilled it.

Look how much fun they are having with all the glitter and glue :)

Dear Mother, guide us and protect us earthly mothers who do this humble job of raising children.  Help us to be holy and pure like you and to give our children Jesus every day.  Help us not to complain or get tired of what we do rather take up our job with enthusiasm and love.  May we become the true examples of Love to our little ones at home.
